Master's and Ph.D. level therapists are on staff to meet the mental health needs of our clients. YWCA Omaha provides counseling services for a number of issues. We accept insurance reimbursement from several companies. Payments are based on income and a sliding fee scale may be available if insurance payments do not apply to your situation. Some services are offered in Spanish through the Latina Resource Center (LRC) at 402-898-6760.
We offer:
Individual Counseling: A full clinical team is available to offer on-going individual counseling for clients.
- Crisis Counseling
- Trauma therapy
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is one of the most effective and rapid method for healing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
- Therapy for male victims: Women are not the only victims of domestic violence. More men are coming to our agency in need of therapeutic support, and staff therapists are trained to work with the unique issues facing a man in crisis.
- Family Therapy: These counseling services are offered to couples and families. Specialized family therapists work with families and couples in intimate relationships to nurture change and development.
- Adolescent Therapy
- Child Therapy
- Art Therapy: Specially-trained therapists use the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of clients.
Besides individual counseling, victims may choose with their therapist to participate in group therapy. Meeting other people with problems can give a wider perspective to clients. Clients also gain encouragement and emotional support in dealing with issues.
